Cambodia’s street food scene, through eyes of Pinoy artist Michael Santiagov

The street food scene in Cambodia is amazingly colorful, fresh, diverse and vibrant.

Having lived there for most of the pre-COVID years from 2007, and visiting perhaps twice a year since then, Cambodian (a.k.a. Khmer) street food is healthy, cheap, and delicious.

Cambodian food may be described as a cross between the more popularly known Thai and Vietnamese food; both these countries share a border with Cambodia (as does Laos) and in past centuries parts of these countries had been under Khmer rule for generations, so perhaps it is not so surprising they will have similar ingredients and cuisine.
