A Cambodian rights group has expressed dismay after a court convicted and jailed a disabled, wheelchair-bound man for incitement over his social media comments.
Phon Yuth, 40, was sentenced to 18 months in jail for various comments and posts on Facebook, Radio Free Asia (RFA) reported on Nov. 12.
Kim Piseth, a senior investigator for human rights group Adhoc Cambodia said that Yuth’s jailing could further dampen the exercise of freedom of speech in Cambodia.
