Cambodia govt hails security forces for thwarting Rainsy’s ‘coup plot’

The Cambodian government has commended the nation’s security forces for thwarting what it calls the attempted “coup plot” by self-exiled opposition leader Sam Rainsy.

The Phnom Penh Post reported the government comments as Rainsy renewed his vow to return to Cambodia after failing to do so last Saturday.

The government has deemed Rainsy’s attempted plot, which was to coincide with the nation’s 66th Independence Day, a complete failure.
