Thailand deported 9,979 undocumented migrant workers through Poipet City in western Cambodia this year.
Pok Nady, a deputy provincial governor for Banteay Meanchey said deported migrant workers said they faced numerous risks while working abroad illegally.
“This is why we have officials at the border to counsel them before they are sent back to their home provinces,” she added during a National Committee for Counter Trafficking event in Poipet recently, as reported by the Khmer Times.
