Police Did Not Mean to Blame Malaysia and Singapore

I would like to inform the editor-in-chief of The Cambodia Daily that the article “Police Boss Blames Malaysia, Singapore for Influx of Drugs,” published on February 3 in The Cambodia Daily quoting His Excellency General Neth Savoeun, National Police chief, may have caused confusion among readers.

The National Police Commissariat would like to clarify that during the meeting, His Excellency General Neth Savoeun, National Police chief, intended to discuss the complexity of activities required to combat drugs, and the fact that this is a global issue that is not simple.

His Excellency meant to stress that even developed countries such as Malaysia and Singapore also cannot discover drugs transiting through their airports bound for Cambodia. In this sense, His Excellency’s speech did not mean to blame or accuse Malaysia and Singapore.
