Cambodia’s opposition leader to stand trial next month

After being released from house arrest last month, Cambodian opposition leader Kem Sokha will now face a trial next month for treason.

A Phnom Penh Court set January 15 as the trial date for the former president of the dissolved Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP).

The Phnom Penh Post said that Sokha will stand trial on the conspiracy charge under the Cambodian Criminal Code.
