Four people died and six were injured in a three-vehicle pileup on Friday night in Battambang province’s Mong Russei district, local police said.
The dead and injured people were driving along National Road 5 in a passenger van headed to Kompong Speu province when they collided with an Isuzu pick-up truck.
After crashing, the two vehicles were then hit head-on by a passenger bus from the Rasmey Kampuchea bus company, according to district deputy police chief Doeun Sambath.
“The van driver and one of his employees died along with two passengers, and six others were severely injured,” he said.
The six injured passengers are receiving treatment at the provincial hospital.
Sath Kimsan, the provincial traffic police chief, said that nobody would be arrested in connection with the accident because the van driver was at fault.
He added that the damaged bus, van and truck have been impounded at his office.
