Cambodia confirms 2 new imported COVID-19 cases, 243 in total

Cambodia on Wednesday confirmed two new imported COVID-19 cases, raising the total number of infections in the country to 243, said a Health Ministry’s statement.

One case was detected on a 42-year-old Kazakhstani woman, who arrived in Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia, on Monday from Kazakhstan via a connecting flight in South Korea, the statement said.

“The woman’s samples were tested and the result showed Tuesday that she was positive for the COVID-19,” it said. “Currently, she has been admitted to the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital in the capital for treatment.”
