Cambodia said on Saturday that the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is fully confident in China’s capacity to control and contain the spread of COVID-19.
“ASEAN Foreign Ministers expressed full confidence in the government and people of China to overcome the epidemic and, in return, their Chinese counterpart extended his appreciation to ASEAN Member States for sympathy, support and assistance,” said a Cambodian foreign ministry’s statement.
The statement was released after Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn returned from a special foreign ministers’ meeting between ASEAN and China on the COVID-19, which was held in Vientiane, Laos on Thursday.
