Phnom Penh Port saw a 5 per cent decrease in throughput.

Cambodia’s largest seaport, Sihanoukville Autonomous Port (PAS), has reported an 8.5 per cent increase in container throughput, handling 79,778 twenty-foot-equivalent units (TEUs) in 2023, according to the ministry of public works and transport’s annual report. The US remains the top destination for exports through PAS, absorbing 37 per cent of the total 395,145 TEU exports, with the European Union following at 28 per cent. Meanwhile, imports through PAS were predominantly from China, representing 66 per cent of the total 402,633 TEUs.

In contrast, the Phnom Penh Autonomous Port (PPAP), Cambodia’s second-largest container hub, experienced a 5 per cent decrease in container throughput, recording 396,225 TEUs last year, according to Cambodian media reports.
