Cambodia’s Koh Kong province to establish green special economic zone

Cambodia is planning a new green special economic zone in Koh Kong, aiming for an eco-friendly industrial hub with investments up to $800 million.

In a recent development, plans are being laid out for a new green special economic zone (SEZ) in Koh Kong province of Cambodia. The discussions, which took place in the coastal province recently, are paving the way for an eco-friendly industrial hub with investments estimated between $400-$800 million.

The discussions involved provincial authorities, representatives from the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), the ministry of economy and finance (MEF), provincial governor Mithona Phouthong and representatives from the British embassy in Phnom Penh among others.
