Cambodia’s famed Angkor reports 60-pct drop in foreign tourists in first 4 months

Cambodia’s famed Angkor Archeological Park attracted 384,317 foreign tourists in the first four months of 2020, down 60 percent over the same period last year, said a statement Xinhua received on Saturday.

The ancient site made gross revenue of nearly 18 million U.S. dollars from ticket sales during the January-April period this year, down 59 percent over the same period last year, said the state-owned Angkor Enterprise’s statement.

In April alone, the park received 654 foreigners earning 29,368 U.S. dollars from ticket sales, down 99.65 percent and 99.64 percent, respectively compared to the same month last year, it said.
