Cambodia’s apparel exports to major markets fall steeply in Q1, 2023

In Q1 2023, Cambodia's apparel exports amounted to $2.066 billion, with Europe and North America experiencing significant declines in trade.

During the first quarter of the current year, Cambodia exported apparel worth $2.066 billion. Most regions reported a decline in trade compared to the previous year. The largest markets, Europe and North America, recorded significant declines in Cambodian apparel exports during this period.

Cambodia’s apparel exports to Europe amounted to $733.268 million, which accounted for 35.49 per cent of its total shipments from January to March 2023. The share of exports to North America was 32.16 per cent, with shipments valued at $664.494 million during the same period. The outbound shipments to the Asia-Pacific region were valued at $570.343 million, representing a 27.60 per cent share of the total.

These three markets accounted for more than 94 per cent of the total exports, according to Fibre2Fashion’s market insight tool TexPro. The Middle East, Central & South America, and Africa were minor markets for Cambodia’s apparel.
