From Cambodia to Washington Township: Local resident to share her experiences growing up in civil war-torn Phnom Penh

The Margaret E. Heggan Free Public Library in Washington Township will present “Chanty Jong: Cambodian Genocide Survivor” on Wednesday, May 22, at 6:30 p.m.

Chanty Jong, a Washington Township resident, was born in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. When she was 8 years old, civil war erupted in her homeland. She lived through the terror of Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge, and survived to ultimately escape to the United States.
