Cambodia’s death toll from COVID-19 surged to 1,025 on Thursday after 39 new fatalities were confirmed, the Ministry of Health said in a statement.
Thursday’s deaths were also the highest-ever daily death toll, surpassing the previous highest daily record of 36 deaths on July 3.
The Southeast Asian nation logged 996 new COVID-19 cases, pushing the national total caseload to 64,611, the ministry said, adding that the new infections included 829 local cases and 167 imported cases.
