Multicultural festival supports White Ribbon Day

The Cambodian community held a successful Multicultural Day at Cabramatta last Friday, November 22. The festival coincided with White Ribbon Day and the community sent a strong message of commitment to standing against domestic violence.

The community also took part in the annual White Ribbon Walk on the previous Wednesday, marching behind banners of the Khmer Community of NSW and the Khmer Language School as they joined school students, police and members of other community organisations on the walk from Canley Vale Park to Freedom Plaza at Cabramatta.

The Multicultural Day was held at Freedom Plaza, organised by the Khmer Community of NSW with support from the Lao Community Advancement Co-op and the Cambodian Buddhist Society and funded by Multicultural NSW. It also enjoyed strong support from the South-Western Local Area Health Service and South-West police.
