Da market, the first Cambodia-Vietnam model border market, was inaugurated and handed over to Cambodia’s Tbong Khmum province on December 24 as a gift from Vietnam.
The inauguration ceremony saw the presence of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung, Government officials, leaders of ministries and sectors from the two countries as well as around 8,000 locals living in the shared border area.
The market was constructed in January 2018 on an area of nearly 20,000 square meters at Thary Tbaung Khmum special economic zone in Memot district, Tbong Khmum province, Cambodia. It is opposite to Vietnam’s Chang Riec border gate in Tan Bien district, Tay Ninh province.
