Cambodia’s rubber export up 15 pct last year

Phnom Penh – Cambodia had exported 217,500 tons of dry rubber in 2018, up 15 percent from a year earlier, according to a General Directorate of Rubber report released on Monday.

The Southeast Asian nation earned gross revenue of 287 million U.S. dollars from the exports of commodity last year, down 3.9 percent year-on-year, the report said.

“A ton of dry rubber averagely cost 1,319 U.S. dollars in 2018, about 262 U.S. dollars lower than that of 2017,” Pol Sopha, the director general of the General Directorate of Rubber, said in the report.
