Voter Voices: Heng Sou Chheng, 63

Village chief; lives in Phsar Kandal II commune in Phnom Penh’s Daun Penh district.

“I have been a village chief for 15 years. I am satisfied with the current [CPP] authorities, but there are some things I’m not happy with. I’m not happy with authorities not helping the citizens to get ID cards and documents. I want the authorities to produce ID cards, family records and related documents for people here. Some citizens have not got them. I also want them to support poor people.

I don’t want to see crime and drugs in this area. All the bad people—drug users—come to the alleyways near my house when police chase them. There should be more police to guard here.

I will vote for the CPP again. It is true they brought peace and stability. When I joined the campaign at Koh Pich, I saw a lot of supporters for the CPP.

I don’t want to say who friends and family support because I don’t want a color revolution. The color revolution is when people judge other people in a bad way…violence can happen.”
