The construction of a Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Monument was commenced in Kampong Speu province in Cambodia on March 2.
The monument was rebuilt at the base of the old monument, which was first constructed in the centre of Kampong Speu in the 1980s.
This is the 20th out of 22 monuments rebuilt or upgraded across Cambodia in recognition of the great contributions of Vietnamese and Cambodian soldiers who sacrificed their lives to liberate Cambodia from the genocidal Pol Pot regime.
