A ceremony was held in Hanoi on July 12 to present the Gold Star Order, the Party and State’s highest decoration, to the Force of Vietnamese experts assisting Cambodian revolution during the 1979-1989 period.
Politburo member and Permanent member of the Secretariat, Tran Quoc Vuong attended the event and presented the Gold Star Order to the force.
Speaking at the ceremony, Politburo member Vuong recalled that over 40 years ago, Vietnamese volunteers and experts helped the Cambodian army and people to overthrow the genocidal Khmer Rouge regime, ending the darkest period in Cambodia’s history, and ushering in a new chapter for the revival and development of the country.
