Opposition activists in Cambodia released on bail

Activists associated with the banned Cambodia National Rescue Party were released on bail on Friday. The move came as the party’s former leader gave up trying to return to the country.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen announced on Thursday the release of more than 70 opposition activists on bail.

They were arrested after the party’s former leader Sam Rainsy said in August that he intended to return home from self-imposed exile in France.
