Cambodia condemns self-exiled former opposition leader for anti-gov’t call

Phnom Penh – Cambodia on Saturday condemned self-exiled former opposition leader Sam Rainsy for calling on the armed forces to disobey the orders of country’s Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen.

“The Ministry of the National Defense of the Kingdom of Cambodia condemns and resolutely opposes the appeal made by convict Sam Rainsy,” Chhum Socheat, the spokesman for the Ministry of the National Defense, said in a statement.

He said the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) obeys the prime minister’s orders completely and vows to crush any ill-willed individuals who attempt to destroy the country’s peace through color revolutions or undemocratic ways.
