‘World’s loneliest elephant’ gets farewell party before leaving Pakistan for Cambodia (video)

Known as the “world’s loneliest elephant”, Kaavan has bid farewell to Pakistan with a party at Islamabad Zoo in Pakistan on November 23, 2020. Pakistan’s only Asian elephant, Kaavan was overweight and suffering from mental illnesses while chained up in the zoo in the Pakistani capital. His plight sparked an international outcry about conditions at the zoo, and after more than 200,000 people signed a petition, a court ruled that Kaavan could be moved to a sanctuary in Cambodia, where he will be heading to on November 29.
