UN Rights Envoy Closes Out 11th Mission

Surya Subedi, the U.N.’s human rights envoy to Cambodia, will close out his 11th mission to the country this afternoon with a press conference summarizing his latest visit, in which he followed up on the government’s work toward to judicial, electoral and land rights reform.

During the mission, Mr. Subedi met with Interior Minister Sar Kheng and CNRP Vice President Kem Sokha, along with other senior government officials, civil society groups and business owners. Mr. Subedi is scheduled to report to the U.N. General Assembly on the human rights situation in the country later this year.
