The Phnom Penh Municipal Court Sunday questioned three men who were arrested last week in connection with the seizure of a stockpile of fake government documents and rubber stamps at a house in Daun Penh district.
On Thursday, the Interior Ministry’s penal police confiscated boxes of forged documents and more than 1,000 stamps with rubber seals that mimic those of various state institutions at the rented home of Nav Sokhorn, 52, one of the suspects.
Mr. Sokhorn was questioned Sunday alongside Suom Udomreaksmey, 24, and Nheb Vanna, 51.
“The court did not charge them yet because they ran out of time Sunday, and will continue questioning them tomorrow,” Eav Rith, municipal penal police chief, said Sunday.
The counterfeit stamps bore the seals of the ministries of education, agriculture, fisheries, commerce, economy, finance, foreign affairs and justice, as well as the personal seals of CPP lawmaker Kep Chuktema and Mao Chandara, director-general of the Interior Ministry’s identification department.
