Two Cambodians and a Canadian were seriously injured when the bus they were in crashed into a truck in Siem Reap province early Tuesday, police said.
The accident occurred at about 5:30 a.m. on National Road 6 in Chi Kreng district’s Lveng Russei commune when the Virak-Buntham Express bus slammed into the back of a Hyundai truck loaded with rebar and packfood, saild commune police chief Thann Sophon.
“A Cambodian woman was cut on her right arm while a Cambodian man was injured on his waist and legs.
The Canadian woman slightly injured her left shin,” Mr. Sophon said.
Cambodian woman Pov Maly, 43, the most seriously hurt, was taken to the Siem Reap provincial hospital, he added.
District traffic police chief Kong Oeurn said both drivers had fled the scene. “We are investigating to arrest the drivers,” he said.
Last month, a Virak-Buntham bus crashed into a motorbike in Battambang province, killing one man and injuring two others, but continuing on to Pursat province.
