Teen Charged With Assaulting Girls, 5 and 6

The Battambang Provincial Court on Tuesday charged an 18-year-old man with indecently assaulting two girls aged 5 and 6 in the province’s Kors Kralor district, police said Thursday.

Police arrested Tith Chan Sak on Tuesday after the victims’ families filed complaints against him, said Siek Phea, district police chief.

“He is accused of indecently assaulting two young girls,” Mr. Phea said. Following a wedding Tuesday afternoon, the suspect had passed the six-year-old’s home, which was a short distance from his own.

Seeing the child and her 5-year-old fried were at home unsupervised, he entered the house where he undressed them both and assaulted them.

“The suspect admitted to indecently assaulting the two children, saying he was drunk after the wedding and could not control his feelings,” Mr. Phea said.

Thol Yuthea, provincial deputy anti-human trafficking police chief, said the suspect had been charged Thursday with indecent assault of minors.
