A man suspected of shooting to death his cousin and a friend on Monday was arrested yesterday morning while sleeping in Pursat province’s Phnom Kravanh district, police said.Ut Sreng, 28, allegedly shot his cousin Kin Nay, 39, and Ngov Soeurn, 31, with an AK-47 assault rifle.
Authorities said this week that Mr. Sreng was infuriated that his cousin had initiated an affair with his wife, but after his capture Mr. Sreng insisted to police that he was not jealous but simply embroiled in a family feud with the two victims, said Nuo Heng, police chief of Samraong commune.
Mr. Sreng claimed the victims were on bad terms with his father and had threatened to kill him, Mr. Heng said.
