Police in Stung Treng and Kompong Cham provinces are working together to try to apprehend Teh Salan, the suspected robber and jail escapee who hijacked a Mekong River boat Friday in Stung Treng and jumped off just north of Kompong Cham town.
The search is centered around a rubber plantation area near Cheung Prey district, where the suspect’s wife lives, Mao Phirun, deputy governor of Kompong Cham province, said Wednesday.
Stung Treng police have a photo and biographical material on Teh Salan, who is said to have wounded a guard in his jail break, as well as a boat passenger.
