Scholarship Recipients Picked

Judges of The Cambodia Daily/Regent College scholarships have chosen the third set of 30 people who will receive tuition to attend courses in English, bookkeeping, office skills or working internationally at Regent College in Phnom Penh.

Scholarship recipients were selected on the basis of the results of written and spoken tests of their English skills and according to financial need.

Judges and the staff of Regent College and The Cambodia Daily waded through more than 300 applications to narrow the pool down to 60 semi-finalists, who were allowed to take an exam and have an interview with a school representative, and then 30 winners who will start classes this month.

The judges were British Ambassador George Edgar, Regent College‘s director Neil Stewart McLaren, and Victoria Stagg Elliott, Cambodia Daily weekend editor .
