A group of South West women have returned from Cambodia after setting up a new Days for Girls enterprise which helped provide 13 women with jobs.
Days for Girls Bridgetown WA Chapter has contributors and donors from as far north as Bunbury and Perth, who source materials and sew Days for Girls kits which include everything a girl might need to manage her period.
The four core members, Brenda Dawes, Brooke Murphy, Wendy Trow, and Jenny Tolhust, have recently returned from Cambodia, where they set up a Days for Girls enterprise under Children’s Action for Development. Co-leader Brenda Dawes said they had trained six women in sewing the kits and a further seven women in educating girls when it came to their periods.
