The number of road fatalities in Cambodia declined to 861 people in the first half of 2020, a drop of 17 percent from 1,033 over the same period last year, Interior Minister Sar Kheng said on Wednesday.
Besides death toll, the accidents injured 2,449 others during the January-June period this year, down 24 percent from 3,227 over the same period last year, he wrote on his official Facebook page.
Kheng, who is also a deputy prime minister, said that 1,619 cases of road accidents had been recorded during the first six months of this year, down 25 percent from 2,171 cases over the same period last year.
