Although police said they interviewed a few witnesses present when MPA Security Country
Director Scott Nelson died Wednesday, the cause of his death remains unknown, officials said.
Penal police chief Khoun Sophon said Thursday he interviewed people present in the karaoke club on Street 252 where Nelson collapsed. The witnesses said he had a few cocktails but could not attest to any suspicious activity.
MPA’s Bangkok-based director, John Muller, said that once Nelson’s family gives final approval, a few preliminary tests will be conducted on his remains in Phnom Penh.
After that, Nelson’s body will be shipped to Bangkok for a preliminary autopsy before it is returned to his home in the US.
