No Cambodian Terror Victims, Ministry Says

Contrary to published reports from the US, no Cambodian citizens are known to have died in last week’s terrorist attacks in the US, Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials said Thursday.

Although some Cambodian-Americans may have died when three planes slammed into the World Trade Center towers in New York and the Pentagon in Washington, no Cambodian citizens have been identified, ministry official Sar Sambath said.

“We have communicated with the [Cambodian] embassy there,” said Sar Sambath.

The attacks occurred hours after a Cambodian delegation led by Ministry of Commerce secretary of state Sok Siphana left New York. All were unharmed.
