A man’s body was found inside two rice sacks next to a rubber plantation in Kompong Cham province’s Stung Trang district on Saturday morning, according to local police.
Khun Suy, chief of police in Arak Tnort commune, said the body of the man, who police believe was between 20 and 30 years old, was found on the edge of a 10-meter cliff by two workers collecting resin on a rubber plantation owned by local businessman Eng Sovannaroth.
“The body was packed into two sacks—a blue sack packed around the feet and a white sack packed around the head,” Mr. Suy said.
The shirtless body, dressed in white checked shorts, was in one piece, but badly decomposed, he said, adding that police believe the man died more than a week ago.
Mr. Suy said police were yet to determine whether the man had been murdered, and were searching for his relatives.
The body was buried on land near where it was found shortly after being discovered, he added.
