Movie star and director Angelina Jolie-Pitt made several appearances in Phnom Penh over the weekend as the Cambodia International Film Festival was in full swing.
On Saturday afternoon, she joined fellow filmmaker Rithy Panh and two young Cambodian directors for a panel discussion at Chaktomuk Theater on the country’s emerging film scene.
The 700-seat venue was near capacity as the panelists discussed the challenges of documentary filmmaking and the social power of cinema.
After the hourlong event, Ms. Jolie-Pitt and her husband, Brad Pitt, headed to Aeon Mall’s Major Cineplex to open the premiere of the Cambodian short films program and for a screening of her new film “By The Sea.”
The star couple then spent Sunday morning visiting the Bophana Center, and were also spotted at Olympic Stadium.
