A group of Indonesians became the latest batch of foreigners forced into working in online gambling operations in Cambodia after being lured with lucrative job offers.
The Khmer Times reports that the Indonesian Embassy last month rescued over 165 of them from Cambodia-based Chinese companies who extorted and confined them.
Quoting sources, it said the latest rescue took place on Feb 26 and it involved 44 Indonesians who were held by an online gambling syndicate in Kandal province’s Koh Thom district.
