Hun Sen Expresses Condolences Over Death of Vietnamese President

President Tran Dai Quang died in a military hospital in Hanoi of a “serious illness despite efforts by domestic and international doctors and professors,” Vietnam Television said.

Washington, D.C – Prime Minister has sent his condolences to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc of Vietnam and the Vietnamese people over the death of Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang, who has died at age 61.

According to a letter from Hun Sen to his Vietnamese counterpart, he called Tran Dai Quang “a great and admirable leader”.

“The demise of H.E Mr. Tran Dai Quang is a huge loss of a great and admirable leader of the country and People of Vietnam and a good friend of Cambodia. In this sad moment, my thoughts and prayers are always with you and all the people of Vietnam,” reads the letter.
