Grant Finalists Announced

Staff of The Cambodia Daily and Regent College have finished sorting through the 400 applications and selected 60 finalists for the third round of Regent Col­lege/Cambodia Daily scholarships.

The program provides 30 grants for courses in English, bookkeeping, Working Inter­na­tion­ally and computer skills at Regent College worth $120 each.

The following people are re­quested to report to Regent Col­lege, 98 Pasteur St, Phnom Penh for an exam and interview at 8:30 am, Sunday, Sept 26:

Touan Sokun, Soeun Ratha, Sourn But Mao, Seang Sophak, Chea Leang Kheng, Thong Samnang, Tum Bun­thoeun, H E Sokhom, Ong Phanna, Phean Sipho, Saly Bin, Nin Sokmalen, Chun Keoratna, Prak Darith, Prak Chenda, Poun Moro­kat, Buth Chanthy, Tak Sokunthea, Huot Socheat, Iem Van­ny, Vann Theany, Sok Soma­len, Chheang Marida, Phon Pha­nin, Keo Amara, Keo Daneth, Eam Theary, Tiv Molika, Horn Cha­kria, Rith Vathna, Nguon Kol­monunh, Tith Phally, Chann Den, Son Chhaykea, Phon Narin, Heng Silay, Chin Raksmey, Duong Ravy, Duong Saramany.

Finalists were chosen based on an initial application at the beginning of September according to financial need.

Scholarship judges Secretary of State for Education Pok Than, British Ambassador George Edgar, head of English-language training Tony Bienkowski and The Cambodia Daily’s weekend editor Victoria Stagg Elliott will select the winners based on their tests and interviews at the end of September. Recipients will be announced at the beginning of October.

Employees and relatives of staff of The Cambodia Daily, Sihanouk Hospital Center of Hope and Regent College are not eligible to apply.
