Fugitive Russian Hosts ‘Secrets of Business’ Seminar

Despite facing multimillion-dollar embezzlement charges in Moscow, wanted Russian oligarch Sergei Polonsky was set to host a free, online seminar on the “secrets of business” Tuesday, according to the fugitive’s website.

Last year, Russian prosecutors charged the former billionaire, in absentia, with embezzling more than $180 million from dozens of investors in two separate Moscow development projects.

Russia twice attempted to have him extradited, but Cambodian courts denied the requests. Mr. Polonsky splits his time between Phnom Penh and his private island off the coast of Sihanoukville, Koh Dek Koul.

The topics of Tuesday’s seminar, “Secrets of Business From Sergei Polonsky,” include the principles of billionaires, the first steps in starting a business and five pillars of a successful person.

It was unclear from where Mr. Polonsky planned to host the seminar, but a promotional video posted to the event’s announcement shows him sitting on a sofa at the Elephant Bar in the Raffles Hotel in Phnom Penh.

As of Tuesday evening, Mr. Polonsky was still on Interpol’s list of most-wanted persons.
