France Grants $3.65M for Microfinance

The Agence Francaise de Developpement, a French government agency, has granted a $3.65 million loan package to strengthen Cambodia’s microfinancing activities.

Prime Minister Hun Sen pre­si­ded Friday at a signing ceremony be­tween visiting AFD Chief Exec­utive Officer Antoine Pouill­ieute and acting Finance Min­ister Ouk Ra­bun at the Coun­cil of Mini­sters.

The money will be used to support the National Bank of Cam­bodia and streng­then activities of the Rural Devel­opment Bank.

 

, a financial wholesaler institution, according to the doc­u­ments provided at the ceremony.

AFD has granted more than $48 million, in 30 projects focusing on rural development and Siem Reap’s regional development, according to the statement.
