Founder of The Cambodia Daily dies

A journalist and the publisher of Cambodia’s first English-language newspaper Bernard Krisher has died.

The Cambodia Daily is known for its investigative reports that are often critical of the government. It was forced to close its print edition in 2017.

The online edition of the newspaper says Krisher died of heart failure on March 5 at a hospital in Tokyo. He was 87-years-old.
