Firm Seeks to Televise Bingo

Televised bingo could be on its way to Cambodia.

The game, in which participants cover numbered squares in certain sequences to win money or prizes, is being proposed by The Royal Group, one of the country’s largest investment groups.

Under the plan, The Royal Group, which has applied for permission from the Ministry of Finance, would bring in a bingo machine, negotiate with a television station to host events, and reward an undisclosed amount of prizes per game, said Kim Leang, a representative of the company.

The Royal Group also plans to bring in lottery “quick draw” and other games, Kim Leang said. The project is part of a joint venture with Global Net Entertainment Corp and NorAm Gaming and Entertainment Co of the US.
