The Chinese Embassy in Cambodia has reminded Chinese citizens in the country to stay away from online gambling syndicates.
In a notice posted on its website, the embassy said a number of Chinese citizens were illegally detained and held for ransom after being lured into Cambodia by groups that were running scams.
The scammers have duped the victims with promises of jobs that paid high salaries.
