Decades after Khmer Rouge terror, some justice

Greater Lowell Cambodian-Americans find healing with conviction of regime's leaders.

Bora Chiemruom was just 1 year old in 1975 when she and her family were forced into a Khmer Rouge camp in Cambodia, and her father killed. She was placed in a camp for children, separated from her family.

The Tyngsboro woman feels lucky she was only there for two years, unlike many who could not escape until years later. In 1981, Chiemruom and her family immigrated to Chicago. Her mother, twin sister, younger brother, two grandparents and uncle stayed in a studio apartment.
