Casino Strikers List Grievances

About 600 Naga Resorts Floating Casino workers went on strike Thursday, claiming that management forces them to work illegal hours and is cutting their salaries unfairly.

The workers gathered outside of the casino during the day, and a group of them on Thursday evening went to Sam Rainsy’s residence to consult with the opposition politician and labor activist.

Attempts to reach Naga management for comment were unsuccessful.

Strikers said a 20 percent paycut proposal that management on Wednesday asked workers to sign was out of proportion with casino profits. Strikers also complained they are forced to work beyond the legal limit of six days per week and they are not fairly compensated for vacation days.
