Cambodian deputy PM visits construction site of China-funded medical building

Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Yim Chhay Ly on Tuesday visited the construction site of a new building at the Cambodia-China Friendship Preah Kossamak Hospital here.

The 11-storey building is being constructed by the China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) under the Chinese grant aid of about 82 million U.S. dollars, Chhay Ly said, adding that work on the project began in October 2018 and is due to be finished in February 2022.

“This is a huge achievement in Cambodia’s health sector,” the deputy prime minister said. “The building will be equipped with high-tech medical equipment, and I believe that Cambodian patients will greatly benefit from this project.”
