Cambodia sets up hotline to report illegal detention

The national police of Cambodia have set up a special hotline for the public to report cases of alleged illegal detention in the country.

Complainants can call Hotline 117, which is available in Vietnamese, English, and in Chinese dialects, to report relevant cases as part of the efforts to combat all forms of human trafficking and illegal detention, the Vietnam news agency (VNA) reported.

Hotline 117 is located at the command centre of the General Commission of the National Police which will respond immediately to reports of illegal detention and torture, and to anyone seeking assistance from the national police, it added.
