Cambodia opens consulate general in China’s Hainan

Cambodia on Thursday opened a consulate general in Haikou, capital of China’s southernmost island province of Hainan.

It is the first consular mission set up in the Chinese resort island since the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949.

Khek Caimealy Sysoda, Cambodian ambassador to China, said at the opening ceremony that the newly-launched consulate general would further promote the exchanges in tourism, culture, investment and trade between the two countries.
